PEYOTE BEAD WORKSHOP

Have you ever wanted to learn a technique that will enhance your creativity? This bead class will show you how to create your own piece(s) of art with peyote stitch using a needle and thread to stitch your beads together. Once learning this technique, you will be able to apply it in different ways which will be discussed in this class. The class will be from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. The first two hours will be working with size 8/0 delica beads to allow you to adjust to the stitch and handling of the beads. In addition, you will create a freehand design with the larger beads. After an hour break, we will continue on creating a piece of bead art from a pre created pattern using 11/0 delica beads for the rest of the time. 10:00 - 12:00 - Get familiar with materials and start creating freehand design 12:00 - 1:00 - Break 1:00 - 4:00 - Work with pre created pattern For this technique you can use seed beads or delica beads. The difference between the two types of beads is that the seed bead has rounded edges and fits together but not as well as delica beads. The delica bead is tubular shaped with flat edges allowing the beads to fit together cleanly.


Supplies: All materials will be supplied for this class, with the exception of reading or magnifying glasses. Included will be: Written instructions for peyote stitch technique to use in class and take home, Blank Sheet to create your own design in peyote stitch (in the future), Beads - Delica?s size 8/0 and 11/0, Thread -Beadalon (brand) - Nymo (type D) Needles - 2, Pad, Scissors, Table light.
