SEW A QUILTED HOODIE

In this 2-day workshop students will create a quilted hoodie jacket using a pattern from JMinnisDesignStudios. The jacket includes a pieced and quilted front and hood. We will begin the project using an oversized hoodie jacket, which we will cut apart and reassemble with a more tailored style fitted to you. Some experience with sewing, piecing, and quilting recommended. Before class go through your closet and choose a hoodie or zippered garment that fits you the way you like to wear your clothes. Take some finished measurements off the garment lying flat on a table and record as follows. Shoulder line from neckline to edge of shoulder , Flat bust measurement 1" under arm, Flat waist measurement , Flat Hip measurement, Finished length measurement from neck to bottom of hem.


Supplies: Material Fee is for the pdf pattern. I will bring hard copies on the first day of the workshop.

Materials to Bring: A hooded (no zipper) sweatshirt that is one-two sizes larger than you would normally buy (recommended Jerzees brand if possible), A 5" charm pack of fabrics (or the equivalent of fabrics from your stash) 1/2 yard fabric same color as your sweatshirt for facings and bias tape, 1/2 yard fusible interfacing (Pellon SF 101 recommended), One roll 5/8" stitch witchery, Separating zipper in the same length as your front measurement (probably 22?, 24?, or 26?)
