EXPLORING ACRYLIC TEXTURES

In this beginner to intermediate level paint class, learn how to create textured and raised features using heavy weight acrylic paints and acrylic mediums to add raised dimension and a unique style to your 2D artwork. This class is for anyone interested in exploring the use of heavy acrylic paints and mediums on canvas in the context of abstract art. This class will primarily focus on creating dimensional interest through acrylic paints with the unconventional use of various tools and materials. Create fun and unique acrylic textures while exploring tactile abstract art. Several classes available in the "Exploring Acrylic Textures" series and each class is a different project. Students are welcome to attend any or all classes in the series.

Supplies: All students should bring the following: Set of various paint brushes, including small detail brush / medium flat and (or) angled brush / large brush / 1 med brush for clear acrylic only, Paint Knife(s), Apron & gloves (optional), 1 or 2 Sponges for blending (any type), Color wheel or color guide, Scissors, 2 OZ Spray Bottle, Fun tools, sponges, brushes, corrugated cardboard, or anything that you think will add interesting texture to a painting, preferably something recycled, An appropriate face mask for spray painting outside
