Grants

Fine Line Creative Arts Center Receives $9500 Grant From

The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley

The Fine Line Creative Arts Center community and artists would like to recognize the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley for recently awarding a $9500 grant to the Fine Line Creative Arts Center to purchase and install new exterior doors for both the Kavanagh Building and Twin Silo’s Barn Building at 6N158 Crane Road in St. Charles, IL. The generous donation by the Foundation will allow the Fine Line to update the property and provide students with easier accessibility to the studios and increased security after hours.

The Fine Line is one of only a few regional art centers in this country providing quality art education to promote exposure, expression and the celebration of art. Our goal is to nurture the creative spirit in an inspirational natural setting which engenders a sense of community. At the Fine Line, internationally known artists teach a variety of workshops, the membership draws from the Chicago area and surrounding states. There are as many as 1,100 students a year, a teaching staff of 37-plus and well over 200 class offerings a year and the center is run almost entirely by volunteers.

This generous donation is a great example of giving exercised by the Community Foundation. This grant of $9500 in addition to the $4900 grant received in 2007 to purchase a new electric kiln has helped to further the artistic educational opportunities available to the community.

On behalf of the Fine Line Community, artists, board of directors, staff and volunteers, we can’t say thank you enough to the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley for their continued support.

Lynn Caldwell, Executive Director
Fine Line Creative Arts Center
